Our mission is to improve the physical, psychological and social well-being of handicapped children through the interaction of a therapeutic team consisting of a horse, an instructor, and dedicated volunteers. For individuals with physical, mental or emotional disabilities, the unique relationship formed with the horse can lead to increased confidence, patience and self-esteem.

As an all-volunteer organization, we depend solely on your generosity to help meet expenses. If you would like to help us achieve and further our mission, please read on.

The needs of Pasos Milagrosos are growing rapidly, as evidenced by the increase in children in therapy and almost an equal amount that remain on a waiting list. If you are saying to yourself, “Hey, this sounds great! How can I get involved?” you have obviously recognized that these kids need you!

Because of the organization’s rapid growth, and that there are 15 children on our waiting list, the need for other equine therapy providers in the area is clearly evident.  Our goal is to inform the public of this need and to encourage, educate, and aid others (preferably local Mexican citizens) in starting their own equine therapy center.

Along with maintenance of our riding facilities, there is personal and medical care of our stable of horses, and training of volunteers. Local Mexican women are endlessly making materials and inventing games which help stimulate the children during their therapy sessions. Their fluency in Spanish is a great help in the program.

Currently on our wish list are:

- the services of a physical therapist
- a grader for the paddock
- a small tractor or ATV to pull the grader
- children’s saddles
- repair and replacement of horse equipment
- medical evaluation of each child’s particular
  needs, capabilities and limitations
- educational materials and supplies

If you would like to volunteer your time or contribute funds, medical supplies or professional services to our efforts, we ask that you Contact Us today. All contributions will go strictly toward helping “Our Kids” continue taking Miraculous Steps. Thank you!
